Introduction Reading is a county seat in Berks County named after the city in England. Reading is on the Schuylkill River in southeast Pennsylvania, about 58 miles (93 km) northwest of Philadelphia. The city is bordered on the west by the Schuylkill River, on the east by Mount Penn, and on the south by Neversink Mountain.
With more than 300 factory outlets, Reading is known as the Outlet Capital of the World. Pagoda-Reading has several story bright red and yellow pagoda built atop Mount Penn that can be seen throughout all of city.
